Ayurveda or Ayurvedic medicine is a traditional medicine system native to India that uses a wide range of treatments, including panchakarma (‘five actions’), yoga, massage, acupuncture, and herbal medicine, to promote health and well-being.

To deal with anxiety, Ayurveda recommends a variety of herbs that warm and rejuvenate our nervous system. Most of these plants have an effect on our energetic bodies. Shanpushpi, green tea, Aswaganda, Brahmi and Jatamansi (from the Valeriana family) as well as Tulsi are among the most suitable herbs recommended for this condition. If used in the right doses and combined with the right program, these herbs can help us to balance our Vata Dosha.
Oils of any type are extremely successful in the treatment of unbalanced Vata. All kinds of essential oil massages are recommended, and you can massage your feet with these oils before you go to bed. This helps to enhance the quality of our sleep, which is important for the treatment of anxiety.
While it is very helpful to combine the nutritional and herbal regime of Ayurveda with physical activity, you just shouldn’t overdo it in terms of strength. The energy of increased Vata shows itself in unpredictable tides, so be careful not to waste it all at once. Vata dosha is not responding well to overload and fatigue.
